Batsford Arboretum & steam train Day Excursion

A delightful Cotswolds day out combining vintage railway travel with one of England's finest arboretums

What to Expect:

Step back in time and experience the golden age of steam as we journey through the rolling green hills of the Cotswolds, passing through the historic Greet Tunnel and picture-perfect Stanway Viaduct, with views of the Cotswold countryside, Vale of Evesham and Malvern Hills

We continue to the magnificent Batsford Arboretum, home to a unique collection of some of the world's most beautiful and rare trees, shrubs and bamboos spread across 60 acres. Batsford Arboretum dates back to the late 1800's when the 1st Lord Redesdale – Grandfather to the infamous Mitford sisters – created a wild garden influenced by his time spent working for the foreign office in China and Japan. Batsford is home to the UK's national collection of Japanese cherry trees, with over 120 flowering cherry trees creating a colourful spectacle around the arboretum
