Our morning begins in Worthing, where the elegant promenade stretches along five miles of palm-tree lined seafront. This vibrant seaside town has been welcoming visitors since Princess Amelia, daughter of George III, first holidayed here. The iconic pier, built in 1862, stretches proudly into the English Channel and remains at the heart of Worthing life – a wonderful spot to take in views from the chalk cliffs beyond Brighton to the beaches of the west. Pedestrianised streets make exploring the town centre an easy, relaxed affair, with independent boutiques, cafés and galleries to discover.

In the afternoon, we travel to Chichester – a city steeped in nearly two thousand years of history. This beautifully preserved Georgian city still follows its original Roman street plan, with four elegant streets meeting at the striking Market Cross, built in 1500 to shelter traders on market day. Wander through quaint shopping streets where independent shops, restaurants and galleries sit shoulder to shoulder with high street favourites. The magnificent Chichester Cathedral dominates the skyline – the only medieval English cathedral visible from the sea – and from here you can meander through to the peaceful Bishop's Palace Gardens, a true hidden paradise of beautiful borders and tranquil corners

Take the day to explore this charming resort at your own pace. One of the highlights is the 2.7 mile long promenade where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, or alternatively Hotham Park is ideal for a relaxing afternoon walk or a peaceful picnic. With its lovely gardens, serene lake, and plenty of space to wander, it's one of the best spots to unwind. 

Bognor Regis Museum on West Street is a mine of information on the town's origins and progress. There are fantastic collections including vintage railway posters, sets of fossils and early radios and cameras
