Itinerary
Kicked out into the Atlantic by the boot of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly are a unique sub-tropical archipelago with stunning coastal scenery and a wide variety of wildlife and seabirds
Plymouth
We begin the holiday with two nights’ stay in Plymouth to break the journey to the Scilly Isles, with a free day in the city for you to explore the historic Barbican and Hoe areas. On day three we catch the morning ferry to St Mary’s, our base for four nights
Guided tour of St Mary’s
We enjoy an included introductory guided tour of St Mary’s with a local coach operator, with commentary giving you an insight into life on the largest island of the archipelago
Hugh Town
Explore the island’s ‘capital’, a beautiful location between two beaches and home to a variety of shops, art and craft galleries and restaurants, or stroll the Garrison Walls high above the town
Other Islands (£)
Enjoy the rest of the week at leisure with the opportunity to explore other islands via boat trips if you wish. A popular choice is Tresco, with its Abbey Garden which is home to over 20,000 exotic species of plants
The Bell Rock Hotel is a traditional hotel on St Mary’s, with ensuite bedrooms and an indoor swimming pool. There is no lift, but some ground floor rooms are available on split levels. The Copthorne Hotel is a 4-star hotel in Plymouth City Centre. There is no lift at this hotel.
