The excellent Cumberland Hotel is situated in a clifftop location overlooking the South Bay, a short walk from the town. The hotel has a lift to all floors, but please note there are some split levels.
We spend the day at the traditional fishing port of Whitby, famous for its connections with Captain Cook and Dracula. Our time here is free to do as you wish – perhaps enjoy a delicious fish & chip lunch or perhaps head up to the magnificent ruins of Whitby Abbey dominating the headland above the town
The city of York has a rich history from Romans to Vikings, medieval to modern times. Discover the stunning York Minster and step back in time as you wander through the Shambles, indulge in a little shopping or take a stroll along the river as you explore the city centre at your leisure
