Caerphilly Castle and Llancaiach Fawr Manor
Caerphilly Castle is the largest castle in Wales – a 13th century sleeping giant! We explore the castle as well as enjoying free time in the town, which is also famous for its cheese. Heading into the Welsh Valleys, we visit the fascinating Llancaiach Fawr Manor House, a 16th century immersive history experience where you may meet the Master of the House Edward Pritchard, but if not the ‘servants’ will show you around!
Royal Mint and Cardiff City tour
Enjoy a fascinating visit to the Royal Mint Experience where we have an escorted tour of the production area before exploring the exhibition at leisure. Returning to Cardiff in the afternoon, there is a tour of the city centre and Cardiff Bay area included
Brecon Mountain Railway & Penderyn Visitor Centre
We travel into the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park and head to the Brecon Mountain Railway for a stunning scenic journey through Pontsticill and along the length of Taf Fechan reservoir to Torpantau, which was the summit of the original line. We continue to Penderyn Distillery Visitor Centre to learn about whisky making in Wales and sample some local produce
