A stunning holiday discovering the Delights of Snowdonia, from castles to gardens and with two superb heritage railway journeys
Anglesey, Plas Cadnant and Beaumaris
Crossing the Menai Strait onto Anglesey, we enjoy a short stop at Llanfair PG before travelling to the Hidden Gardens of Plas Cadnant, a historic garden being restored to its former glory and described as one of North Wales’ best-kept secrets. We continue to Beaumaris and visit the town’s famous castle, built by Edward I and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Portmeirion and the Welsh Highland Railway
From Caernarfon we board the Welsh Highland Railway for a stunning journey through the foothills and villages of North Wales. We arrive in Porthmadog where we continue by coach to Portmeirion, the famous Italianate village and filming location for TV series The Prisoner, where we spend the afternoon
Snowdon Mountain Railway & Llanberis
Experience a spectacular journey to the summit of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, departing from Llanberis and climbing to the summit of Yr Wyddfa at 1065m above sea level. We’ll enjoy magnificent views as we ascend the winding track to the summit, with a short stop at the Visitor Centre before our descent. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to enjoy at leisure in Llanberis
